Triathlon CWG Trials - Eva Goodisson

So the NZ elite triathlon 3 week series and commonwealth trials have come to an end as of yesterday.

After a hectic 3 weeks of travel training and top level racing, I am pleased to have a little rest before Europe but also very happy with how I performed.

I updated you after the first selection race in New Plymouth where I received bronze.

The next week in the mount - I was ready to win gold! The "home" course was suited for me however after being first out of the water I suffered a bike crash on the first lap. Luckily I was ok and I got back up, fixed my bike and continued and placed 6th with the fastest swim and run split of the day. Big bummer but it happens.

This weekend the final race was in Taupo. It was a fast furious 7 lap technical bike course but I was really pleased with how I felt and performed and finished 4th in this one.

Next up will be the European and world Cup in Italy before base training in Spain and heading around the world for racing over May - September.

I will hear about funding and Commonwealth selection this week and next.

I am so excited to see what my first year of European racing and international triathlon brings.

Will keep in touch and thank you for the on going support.

Thank you!

Eva.
