Discipline: Triathlon

I’m a 19yr old proud kiwi, born and bred in the Manawatu. I currently live in Palmerston North and work part time as a Building Apprentice. The rest of my time is spent training hard to pursue my dream of becoming a professional triathlete, with the ultimate goal to be the best in the world.

More about me

How did you get into your sport?

My love of triathlon started at a young age but I started taking it seriously in 2018 when I took on a coach. I like to be busy so triathlon is the perfect fit - the dedication and discipline required to master 3 disciplines is what keeps my motivated day in and day out. Some days the training schedules are gruelling but I am determined and focussed and want to take up all the opportunities that being a professional triathlete offers. Triathlon gives me the platform to pursue my goal to not only be the best at what I do but the best in the world.

Approach to training and nutrition:

Every session presented in front of me is approached with a 100% Effort mindset no matter the demands of the workout. Same goes for my nutrition, to execute a session to the best of my ability I have to fuel to the best of ability.

Other notes of interest:

Love the water and any sort of water sport, wakeboarding, skiing, biscuting etc…

Work 3 days a week as a building apprentice.

Biggest achievement so far and why?:

1st Junior European Cup, Austria Wels

This race was my first “European cup” overseas and I had no expectations leading into the race. This race was seen as a “warm up” race 2 weeks out of World Champs in Montreal. I went in with a race plan and executed it perfectly and fortunately came away with the win. This left me as the Number #1 ranked Junior going into World champs which was extremely promising. Unfortunately I contracted covid 5 days out from the race which meant I missed out on that opportunity.
