More about me

I am a born and bred kiwi and grew up as a competitive swimmer in the Hawkes Bay with my parents, younger brother and sister

How did you get into Triathlon

I was a natural runner so I gave triathlon a go in my later years of high school and never looked back! I love the variety you get from training for three different disciplines and the outdoor places you get to train in.  I also love an adventure, so I decided to take up a track scholarship at the University of California, Davis for 4 years. The culture, high performance training, college atmosphere and opportunity to race all over the US, make lifelong friends and travel was irreplaceable and will always be part of my life and fuel my drive for a challenge and change.

My biography

Approach to training and nutrition: You wouldn’t fill your Ferrari with 91 would you? Same goes for my engine. As a female triathlete especially with high energy demands and muscle breakdown, refuelling quickly with a high quality protein, carbohydrate and collagen is essential to make gains and minimize damage for longevity and performance.

Other notes of interest: I have just graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelors of science honours in Managerial Economics. Other hobbies include surfing, paddling, hiking, skiing, writing, cooking and travelling!

Short Term Goals: To make the 2022 HPSPNZ carded athlete list and earn an income as a professional athlete

Long Term Goals: Qualify and compete at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and start my own business.

Biggest achievement so far and why?: Completing a honours degree from the University of California Davis and becoming an Academic All American for track 3000m indoors. These achievements contain a multitude of sacrifices, risks taken, injuries overcome, hours studied and 4 hard years away from family and friends in the US to achieve something I didn’t realize I was truly capable of.
