Discipline: Triathlon

My three main Horleys products would be Replace, Replace Gel and Elite ICE WPI. It would not be possible to do what I do without the Replace sports drink and the gels. They keep me hydrated, I have never cramped, and they provide quick fast energy which don't cause the GI issues that a lot of gels do. And then I can't go past the ICE WPI protein for recovery, I have it every day I can, and I notice it if I don’t.

I am a serious sports fan that gets to live his dream every day. My goal and passion is to be the best I can be, over the Ironman distance in triathlon. Now having completed two Ironman events I can safely say there is no feeling that comes close to the satisfaction of crossing that finish line having given everything you have. I hope to keep doing that and win some races along the way.

My biography

How did you get into your sport?

I got into the sport at an early age, around 11. I was a bit overweight and my older brother James took me out for some runs. After that we started to compete in multipsport events in teams then individuals. After graduating from Auckland University in Chemical and Material Engineering I decided to try racing professionally.


Training & Nutrition Philosophy

My nutrition philosophy would be 80/20 i.e. 80% really good clean unprocessed foods and then 20% not so much. I believe in eating a wide variety of foods to cover all the bases and I always try to have a lot of colour on the plate. But I am only human and do love home baking and chocolate.

Biggest sporting achievement so far and why?

Probably my most recent Ironman. Ironman NZ 2017 where I finished 5th, It was such a tough solo day and mentally it tested me like never before. So to hang in there and be 6.5min behind the legend Cameron Brown I was very happy with.
